South Africa has been buzzing about a new book by veteran journalist, Jaques Pauw. The revelations in the President’s Keepers explains how South Africa is currently a literal magnification of the words spoken by Lord Acton in 1887 – “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

The Freedom Charter

Early on Saturday 11 November, the APSS team set off from Kleinbaai Harbour – destination Dyer Island. This real “freedom charter” – had on board a mix of first time fledgeling African penguins and some older generation patrons. They have all spent time resting and recovering at the African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary and were now ready for their return to the big blue.
